I bought this stove from the original owners about a month ago. From the looks of it they used it daily. All three burners and thermowell operate from the central pilot, but the oven is match lit. Functionally, everything works, but I never checked to see if the light worked on top of the backsplash. Cosmetically, the range top and area underneath can use a good cleaning in addition to the broiler area.

The 90-C is currently sitting at Macy's Classic Stoveworks in Houston. I just had a thorough examination on it to see what it would take to bring it up to pristine/mint condition. I got sticker shock when I received the service report, but have read it over much more closely since. The main items that need to be done are a thorough cleaning and to have the thermostat adjusted. Any prospective buyer can either clean the 90-C themselves or contract it out to a shop specializing in restoration. I have sent you photos so judge for yourself.

The reason I am selling is I came across another Chambers that was 'restored' and foolishly bought it without seeing it in full operation. As it turns out I am going to have to put some money in it just to have it operational. I know I should just cut my losses and move on, but I think I've reached the point of no return with all of the money I already spent on it.

Back to the Model 90-C, I'm more than willing to show the service report to anyone seriously interested. I paid $550 for the stove and $75 to have it examined. I'm not trying to make a profit on this stove, but am selling it to finish the 60-C. I even considered parting it out on eBay to recoup the initial investment, but hate to see a proud and fully functional stove go like that.

The last scenario is to use the 90-C burners and various parts as back-up for the 60-C if a part should ever go bad. I may be asking the members of this board on advice on how to disassemble both of these beauties and use the best parts in one consolidated stove if no one is interested.

In conclusion, this stove is far from perfect, but it works great and needs a thermostat adjustment. If this stove is for your mother you may want to have a safety system installed, but of course that is optional.
